Spring Band Concert
| The Spring Band Concert was a great success May 5 in the Belser Auditorium. Conducted by Heathwood band director John Duhan, Intermediate, Middle and Upper School students performed an enjoyable and impressive array of musical pieces. The concert began with a featured solo by junior Lucy Dinkins on oboe and a duet by 5th graders Rob Smith and Andrew Wood on trumpet. The 5th and 6th grade band played "When the Saints Go Marching In" and "I Got You Babe," followed by the Upper School Pop Ensemble's performance of "California Dreamin'" and "Improv 101." The Upper School Band played "Regenesis" and "Yellowstone Overture for Band." The evening concluded with the combined 7th, 8th, and US band performance of "Monticello Overture," "Song for Winds," "Crown Prince Overture," and "Funkytown." Congratulations to all of the band members for a wonderful concert. |
